Randy Ambrosie said he hopes to remain in the CFL's commissioner's chair for ten years. Ambrosie is the 13th commissioner since 1984, meaning the average stay is 2.75 years. The 54 year old former player was impressive in his introductory news conference. He said one of his initial priorities is to do as much listening as talking, enabling him to learn about the needs of each CFL team. He added that he wants to engage the next generation of fan, and admits that there is no magic switch when it comes getting Torontonians interested in the CFL. Patience will be required. I know that we've heard this from commissioners in the past, but the league's board of governors have found an enthusiastic Canadian football fan, who has a proven track record in the business world. The decision makers have made a smart decision, now we will see if they are smart enough to let him do his job.
